Celebrating LA’s Hard Tech Titans with Upfront

Thank you to the local hard tech community in and around LA for making our co-hosted event with Upfront Ventures last Thursday night a fun, high-energy event at LA’s best kept secret, The Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum.

To celebrate the LA Hard Tech 50 List published by Upfront late last year, we created an expansive map with markers to highlight the manufacturing innovators throughout Southern California. It was astonishing to observe the surge of next-generation manufacturing firms sprouting up in and around LA and its neighboring counties, signaling the region as a burgeoning epicenter of innovation and enterprise.

Seeing the community come together made for a lively night with engaging conversation as well as new and familiar faces.

Shout out to the multi-talented Josh Villbrandt, our go-to event photographer who worked with Karan at SpaceX, for capturing such stunning photos! Download the event pics here. Feel free to share them on social and remember to tag @FirstResonance and @Upfront!

To properly toast the rising pioneers of LA hard tech, we had The Bar Socialites develop bespoke cocktails for our event. The recipes themselves were so tempting, we ran into quite a few people on a mission to try every one of cocktail on the menu. Fortunately, the Heavy Handed truck was there with mouthwatering burgers and Kogi with their Korean BBQ tacos as well as the Yalla truck – all who helped to make sure our hard tech honorees weren’t drinking on an empty stomach.

Customers at First Resonance noticed that the cocktail menus were all showcased on monitors using ION Factory OS. If you're curious about how these drinks are crafted, we've produced videos detailing the visual work instructions for each cocktail.

Shout-out to the winners of our slot car racing who navigated the twists and turns of the track with speed and precision. The winners walked away with a Jackery Portable Power Station, a YETI cooler, or Beats by Dre Studio Airbuds.

And finally, everyone who attended should have received a “Build with ION hoodie.” We had some leftovers at the end of the event, which we are setting aside for our customers who didn’t receive one. So, if you’re a customer in the LA area, let our Customer Success team know and we’ll swing by in the coming weeks and drop one off with some other goodies.

Cheers!
